Notice Regarding Collections of Negative Student Lunch Accounts

The Nutrition Department would like to remind parents that delinquent student meal accounts will be sent to a third party collection agency. A delinquent account is any individual student account that is over $5 negative as of the 1st each month.

Students in grades K-12 will continue to be provided with one breakfast and one lunch meal per day if they do not bring an alternate meal from home, but the account will continue to accumulate meal charges even after the account has been submitted to collections.

Parents should enroll in the District’s online student meal account program at to monitor account balances and register for low balance email alerts. (Parents with students in grades 6-12 need to select Norwalk High School when enrolling in the program.)

The District may assess a $25 administrative fee on any delinquent account.
